With 9 entries it was too hard to fit onto a 16 entry tournament so Steve v Phil was entered as a first round. So great efforts on court by the underdogs and great to see Truro's Chris T making his tournament debut! The final was a rerun of last year's and fittingly it was scheduled as the climax with a packed gallery. This year Matt played so unbelievably well in notching up an impressively convincing 3-0 but it did look like he did needed those last few points to get over the line. Phil, however, is looking good again on crt after some log term injuries so some of the rallies these two managed were easily the best from the entire tournament especially after the 2x World Deaf Champion had warmed up from his very hesitant start. For the record Matt didn't drop a game in the entire tournament so let's just call him CHAMPION SUPREME! Tim and Jon officiated superbly, just in case you were wondering.....
