Some feisty encounters here as you might expect from younger men with higher testosterone levels! TR5's captain and No1 Pete Keam is always up for it and is one of the county's vastly improved players, but NYG Dave Priem had a little too much firepower for the Div 2 player in the 1st semi. Debutant home player Chris T gave another good account of himself and is learning rapidly - one for the future! Huw, the lefthanded Falmouth First Team skipper, enjoyed his W in this semi and a chance of a county final.....In the final Dave edged out Huw in what was one of the most competitive of all the ten finals. It started briskly but gradually descended point after sweaty point from a PG to an 18 to being totally censored as the match progressed! It was so close at times you couldn't separate them with a first class postage stamp! It had everything, great shots, lucky shots, sudden-death points, maybe even some dark arts and the occasional rugby tackle (NOT!) - everything including controversy and that came right at the death! Blood and guts, muck and bullets, mums lock up your daughters and everyone run for the hills! You'll need to look on the dark net for footage of this one! Both players gave it their all! All credit to both! What a final! Phew..... |
