Newquay Untouchable in Cup Final
17 May 2019

Dave Priem’s Newquay won this year’s Pawle Cup in emphatic style with a 5-0 over hosts this year Falmouth. This year’s major trophies, the Boardwalk for the league and the Pawle Knock-Out Cup, both go to Newquay in their best season ever! They last won the knock-out cup in the previous century during the 95-96 and 96-97 seasons when Dave’s dad Clive was playing! On reflection the big win was knocking out habitual winners Truro 3-2 in the semi at Courtney Road. It was a tense affair with new signing Phil T beating Rory 3-2 by the closest of margins, 15-13 in the 5th. Phil got over the line with two amazing winners which sparked jubilant scenes amongst the travelling faithful! Hero status guaranteed!
