| Report: | A great night of Squash saw the Pirates lose the match 14points to 4 points against a strong Falmouth 2 . The star of the night for the Pirates was young Ed Haynes . He played a super controlled game and took a 2 nil lead.. Tom Jay fought back to level the match although Ed regained is control and ran out a worthy 3/2 winner.. Another young Pirate Squash player Taron Benbow played up due to the fact the Pirates no 1 |Nigel was still out injured with a strained Achilles.. Taron fought really hard with some amazing pickups at the front of the court. Dr Ton Hackett had the answers and just a little bit too strong for Taron. A 3/1 score Taron should be proud of.. Like Ed his game is only getting better by the week.
Jet setter Ian back from Vagus stepped in at number 2 against the very fit and determined Huw. Ian who is always great value could not withstand Huws pressure and lost in three.. Tim Hayden playing at one was in for a tough battle against the very talented Matt Tamblyn. For work rate and effort you cannot fault Tim although Shot selection and execution lets him down at critical times in the game.. Games balls for 1 all came and went for Tim has he lost a very tight match in 3.. Well played to all the Pirates for a great effort.. Curry from Phil in the Bar afterwards finished off a great evening.. The Falmouth boys went home full and happy on a job well done.. |
