Report: | PZ1 welcomed Truro 3 to the Pirates . Truro 3 only had 3 players so a walkover at no 4 for the Pirates.. Nigel at number 1 had another tough match against young Medic student Al who stood on over 5k squash levels.. Al took a comfortable first although Nigel looked focus and up for the battle. Nigel took control of the second with lovely floating lengths and lobs which frustrated AL into mistakes. 14 /9 up and looked Nigel game but Al found another level and took it 16/14 . It looked game over but Nigel kept strong to the same game plan and took the next 2 playing his best squash of the season.. Nigel got back to 9 all in the fifth and looked like a major upset on the cards. Al regrouped cut out the mistakes and won the fifth..By far Nigel's best match for a long time.
Tim at 2 came against a young chirpy Callum who started like a train and Tim was struggling to keep up with his pace.. 12 all in the second and it seemed Tim may level the match.. A drop shot that hit the tin seemed to deflate Tim who went on to lose the third.. Video footage required for Tim's next match so we can see which part,s of his game need improving..
Ed played against old Pirate Joel a top junior in his day.. Joel seemed to have time to deliver his shots and punished young Ed when the ball popped out into the middle of the court. Ed battled hard and for sure his game is on the up.. The third seemed more competitive and we were all willing Ed to steal it.. Not to be and Joel ran out a worthy winner . These are the games that Ed need to keep the upward momentum in his game..
Lovely curry thanks Phil and thanks to the Benbow boys for supporting us..
