Report

Report: We welcomed bude for the return fixture in a top of the table clash
Joe vs Gary
Joe started a bit cold vs a wily opponent in Gary, who used his experience to win points with as little movement as possible! First game 15-9 to Gary
Joe responded well and found out a way to punish Gary at the front, Joe racing away with a 15-8 win
The third set was a more tense and closer affair, nip and tuck until Joe held his nerve and served out the game 15-12
The fourth game Joe went into early beast mode and build a commanding lead, only for a few errors and Gary specials to pull it back. But Joe focused and got to the magic 15 to win 15-10 and the match 3-1

Lucas vs mark
We all wondered which lucas was going to turn up tonight (including lucas!), with the memory of a great 3-2 win in the away fixture against Mark.
Lucas started slow and despite a few glimpses of brilliance, a resilient Mark took the game 15-7.
Lucas started the next game well (the educated gallery advising him to take the ball earlier!) And the game was closer, Mark taking it 15-11 with some good running and width shots.
Something changed in the third game, whether it was a stern talking to or self harming his legs but lucas looked more confident and played some lovely squash with good length and width ro take the game 15-9
The resurgence continued on the fourth with a newborn lucas stepping it up with accuracy and running to methodically wear Mark down and take the game convincingly 15-6
The fifth was a tense affair with long rallies and lovely squash. Lucas continued to move his opponent around and used his impressive short game to close the game out 15-13 and a great 3-2 win

Lewis v Rob
A classic match of of youth vs experience and cute racket skills. Lewis started unusually slowly and struggled to adapt to robs style of play, sneaking the first 15-10.
The second game was a similar affair, lewis just able to do enough without getting into his free flowing style of play, taking the next game 15-11
The third game saw lewis focus a bit more and relaxed his play to take the game 15-4 and a 3 love win

(Clubber), Jamie lang vs nick
Next up was the turn of the coach, mentor and maestro Jamie filling in for an injured myles in front of an expectant crowd. Jamie took a while to warm up but took the 1st game comfortably 15-4 without really getting out of 1st gear.
The second game turned into a bit of an exhibition game, 'Clubber' moved nick around the court with ease, holding the tee and playng some lovely late holds to take the next 15-3.
'Mr T' stepped it up again in the third ("I ain't getting in no plane"), almost toying with his opponent but to be fair nick dug deep and scrambled well to keep it more than respectable ,closing out with a 15-5 game to take it 3 love and pick up another 4 game to love win for team J.

Good games and good company as ever with the bude lads over dinner ( thanks clare). Safe journey home.
