| Report: | The Pirates welcomed Bude1 to the Mennaye.Young Taron drafted in at 4 started off quite slow with many errors , he came into the match and nearly took the third although Nic just had enough to get over the line.. Great experience for Taron making his first team debut.. No 3 Wayne was looking to rediscover his confidence. He was against masters player Rob Page.. rob controlled the the rallies with his tight lengths and super drops. Wayne rallied and levelled the match . We thought Wayne may use his superior fitness but Rob had other ideas and ran out a very strong winner with a dominant display. Gordon came up against hard hitting Robin. Gordon quickly got into his rhythm and a very tight first took it . Robin powered back to take the second and the match went to a fifth. The match got a bit messy with both players asking for lets and questioning the markers decisions. Gordon keep his nerve and ran out a deserved winner.. Nigel at one went on with the match already in Budes favour. It looked from early stages the match would not last long as Nigel was carrying a calf strain and was struggling to get around court. After losing the first Nigel took the next 3 tight games with some lovely drops and working boasts which stopped Chris from getting into any rhythm . Nice curry in the Bar and apologies to Robin for not having the veggie option. I hope the boys stopped for him to eat on the way home.. |
