Report

Report: What a night! It didn't start very well for the league leaders as Elliott (no4) was still out with a sore back from the previous team match, so we called in Jonny B to help us out but unfortunately it wasn't his night. Jonny started of great going 7/2 up with some low drops and slower pace but Garry found his game and out hit Jonny to win the first. Sadly the next to didn't go his way either the pace of Garry was to much for Jonny and he went down 3/0 although his points would prove invaluable.
Next up the old captain of 21 years went off flying to go 1 up but Málaga's finest wine and ale proved a little to much as Matt game back strong taking the next 2, although Neil found something to draw level in the 4th, game on! Nothing in it until the last few points where the old timer ran like a youngster to pick up some of Matt's impressive shots but only resulted in nearly killing himself and sadly went down 11/9 so a 3/2 lose.
Not looking good George at 2 stepped up and quickly went 2 up against Martin, the third was close and the younger player had match point to take us to 1 game behind but the cunning Falmouth player played a couple of stunning low drives and great boasts to take the third, George fell asleep while Martin stormed ahead taking the fourth, only to be hit by some lovely shots and a bit of fatigue, so a 3/2 win for Tr1.
The final match was going to be a tall order as we needed a 3 zip to stand any chance of keeping our unbeaten record. Jonny Newton at 1 for Falmouth was hoping to get his revenge and the win for Falmouth but the Connorarter had something to say about that! It was even up to 5 all but a massive rally which saw Connor run like a gazelle to pick up some of Jonny's amazing 3 wall, reverse angle, cork screw, back wall shots which eventually only lead to one thing, wasting way to much energy for Jonny. Apart from the occasional amazing shot from John it was a one way street taking a 3/0 win. The Connorarter pulled the match from the jaws of defeat and a 13 point win on count back!
Well done Tr1 and especially Jonny B for helping us out as ever point counts. Thanks Falmouth for an entertaining match and Klaren for some fantastic food.
