| Report: | Pz 2 looking for the first win of the spring season welcomed Truro 4..
No 4 Tim Poole came up against Lewis Dodd. Tim soon found his control and had young Lewis moving all over the court. Tim took the first with ease although the 2nd was a much tighter affair with Lewis gaining confidence.. At 13/ 13 in the third it seemed Tim was running out of steam, a couple of his wonderful boasts saw Tim stumble across the winning line.
No 3 Adrian was matched against Si Tai. The match usually turns out to be a close encounter. This turned out to be the fact as Si took a commanding 2/1 and 11/2 lead in the fifth, only for Adrian to find second wind and an array of attacking shots to get back into the match and eventually taking the fifth 16/14. Si left the court deflated and a bit upset about the outcome.
No 2 Gordon came up against shot make Jon Wills. Gordon took a good first game with aggressive attacking squash. Jon took control of the next 2 with his array of drops and volleys only for Gordon to take a tight fourth and take the match into the fifth. Gordon’s knee seemed to be causing problems but somehow the match went all the way with Gordon having a match ball only for Jon to nick it. Great game chaps..
No 1 Nigel was up against a determined Julian who had never beaten Nigel. Julian looked stronger and his shots sharper as he took the first. Nigel took the second and it seemed normal service resumed but Julian had other idea's and ran out a worthy 3/1 winner. (Was it the Starmix, Julian?) Nigel was aware one game was needed to ensure PZ2 first win. So a great night had by all.
