Report: | Sweet revenge away from home for Falmouth 2nds after losing the opening match v the Truronians in January. Julian went down 3 zip to Matt whose court coverage and fitness as always were at impressive levels. Usually that’s Julian’s strength! Matt is still unbeaten so all eyes will be on his match v Fin (if he travels?) next Weds at Falmouth. Should be a decider for the accolade of top dog in Div2! Either way both are Div1 3/4 order standard and on the rise! Jon still has the old magic! He’s been bamboozling his oppos with tricky feints and unpredictable angles for many decades now! Tom started well but it looks like Jon moved up a gear shortly afterwards. It’s always an experience playing the Truro evergreen! Jon is an amazing reserve to call in at #2! Sorry Tom! Si looks like he is on a downward trend in form which is the exact opposite of Tm J’s trajectory! Pre covid in our last season you would have put money on the score line being the other way around. For Si it’s a mental game confidence being crucial. Well done Tom, great to see your game developing so well. At 4 it was a family affair with big sister claiming bragging rights. Katrina has had tougher opponents now she mostly plays at 3 and Christian has had fitness concerns. Love to be a fly on the wall the next time the Thomas household meet up for Sunday lunch! Well done Falmouth 2nds. This hard fought victory keeps them at the top but 2nd placed Pirates have 2 games in hand. Favourites they may be but BUDE away is just the sort of fixture to put the cat amongst the pigeons! |
