| Report: | Much tighter than the scores suggest but a strong TR4 side got their predictable W and 3 bonus pts! Plus revenge for losing 3-1 last time against Huw’s improving side. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Billy and Peter in action but both are certainly much better players now. Jon had his work cut out in the early exchanges with Peter who should have bagged the 2nd and likewise Billy could have done better if he’d volleyed Dave’s lobby serve more. Easier said than done - Dave’s serve is nearly 40 years in the making! The Master! Peter certainly has more deception sending Jon the wrong way on numerous cross courts. Alex looks like he’s slowly getting back to previous form but Henry knows his strengths and seems to glide around the court! I didn’t watch the #1s but Julian’s new bat obviously made the difference this time. A lethal weapon and a good W to make up for a few Ls lately! It’s always a battle between the two. The standard at 1 in Div2 is very high and many would do well in Div1. Probably Tr4’s strongest team in ages - sorry Falmouth! The Chairman got shot at for the food situation but just to remind everyone again it was up to individual teams to decide and TR4 voted against! Hopefully, food will be back on next season for all! |
