Report: | Cheers to the Pirates for coming down to Falmouth for a great evening's squash.
Tim played very well to dispatch an unbeaten Dave in 3 sets, Dave didn't get much of a look in.
Tom J looked like he was set for a win after taking the 1st set pretty convincingly. But Wayne;s running a new game plan got him the win. It was a match to knacker out the crowd just watching it!
The match of the night was Tom H v Ian. By this point the double-header had destroyed the court, with the walls becoming waterfalls. It was pot-luck where the ball would end up from a boast. Ian took the first 2 games and Tom H, started volleying more and upped the intensity to take the second two. Somehow Ian had a third wind and controled the 5th taking a well deserved victory with some super racket control.
The final game was myself v Nigel. It wasn't a normal game of squash with the courts playing as they were. So not really fair or enjoyable for either party. Hopefully a better match on the away leg in PZ. We were both hitting flukes throughout as no-one could judge where the ball would go. But I seemed to get the upper hand in each game.
Great food in the bar after with the Bude and Fal3 crew. Pete K didn't seem too impressed though, despite winning his match.
Well done Penzance, a deserved top of the league team at the mo. |
