| Report: | A solid home win, with Falmouth blooding a couple of new players down the order. Sam played with passion and pulled out some great shots but succumbed to Tony’s steady pressure and guile. Robin’s fitness and much improved form meant that he was able to counter Martin’s short game and run out a 3-0 winner. The biggest tussle of the night was between The two no. 2 strings, with the match seesawing back and forth over the full five games before Ali eventually emerged victorious. Fin continued his winning streak at 1 despite a game defence from Matt. Both players showed outstanding mobility around court, but Fin’s power and precision proved too much although Matt fought until the end. Beers and (sadly quite tepid) pizza in the bar afterwards. |
