Report: | With Falmouth thirds unable to field a full team Pirate Wayne Quinn missed out on his season debut. It was string 3 that entertained the crowd at Westholme first with a energetic Will Bathurst chasing down and keeping the ball in play aftet Neythan Hayes easily took the first the visitor was tenacious to level at 1-1. Hayes sailed through the third and guided his way through the match in the fourth but errors nearly undid the plan, as Bathurst had an engine and showed he'll have more to come. Ian Hatch dominated the 2nd string on the Pirates newly refurbished courts, sticking to the T and conducting proceedings after a tight first he claimed a straight games win for Pz against William Anderson-Lambert. Nigel Bell had a mentally tough match with Peter Keam having to step into string one. You could tell that Keam could rock the boat a bit but a focused Bell got his head down and played line and length with just a few selected drops as he nervously snuffed out any upset. Some niggles and contention creeped in during the second as Keam got a run of points but Bell held the straight games win for a max points Pirates win on home soil. |
