Report: | With Darren Shaw out injured and Newquay 2 only having 3 players available for their first match of the season it ws always going to be a difficult night for the home team.
Mike Morgan went on first at 3 sporting a cracking pair of tracksuit bottoms on the hottest courts in Cornwall. He was up against Neil Counter whose retrieval was as ever superb. Mike put in a galliant effort but went down 3-0.
Next up at 1was Gavin Johnson against the new U17s National number 1 Louis Murray. Gavin was in the first game and with some high octane rallies Louis managed to push through 9-15.The age gap then told and Louis cruised the next two games with little fuss.
Last on was David Priem against George Marley. George got off to a good start taking the first 7-15.Dave was 8-1up in the second and then capitulated. And the third was close with George showing great hand speed and reflexes. George taking it 12-15.
So Newquay 2 really need to get back to full strength wile Truro 1 look like they could well be title contenders. |

Notes: | Thank you to Dave for making this fixture happen despite losing a 4th string. Let’s ignore shorelines for a minute and refresh ourselves with the main aim - let’s get squash back! It’s been such a long time so I’m delighted to see matches happening again. |
