Report

Report:An absolute classic Derby match at Newquay with the first team playing the second team and it couldn't of been closer!

The only twice capped Luke Hampshaw went on first against the evergreen Martin Bernell. Luke fought hard in all the games but Martin was to court wise and took the match 3-0

Next on was Mike Morgan against Adam Tatlow. Adam pushed Mike in all the games but in a reverse of the first match Mike was just too strong and won 3-0.

Darren Shaw went on next against the newly rejuvenated Matt Waterston. This match see sawed back and fourth with both players mixing up rallying with some great shot play. Darren just taking the match in the Fifth game.

The best was saved till last as ex County champion Gavin Johnson went on against the big hitting Mark Howitzer Campen Howarth. The first game was a incredible 22-20 scoreline with Gavin just nicking it. Mark hit back to take the next two games but Gavin wasn't going to hand it to Mark and took the fourth 15-12.The final game was just as close with Mark taking the match 15-12 in the fifth.

So a fantastic bottom of the table derby match with both teams fighting for their Premier league status. Couldn't of been closer Newquay 2 just taking it on count back!

Administrator Notes

Notes:Amazing match - Squash is the winner! Gavin v The Howitzer must have been a great watch esp that epic first game! Good to hear some are getting their form back again and great to see Adam back to the beautiful game. Welcome Luke, you’ll pop Burnelli next time! It’s surely too early to talk about relegation! Long live Newquay Squash Teams!
