Report

Report: The Pirates celebrated another win against Falmouth 2, after last week’s defeat in Truro.
Falmouth 2 showed up early at the Pirates home, and were determined to do some damage.
Tim on first against a very focused Christian, but Tim’s service and boasts on his home court very soon showed Christian who is in charge. A convincing 3-0 for Tim.
Next on court Adrian against Billy. Eventhough Billy took an early lead in every game, in the end experience prevailed, and gave The Pirates an overall 2-0 lead.
Flying Hatch on next against Tom, off to a flying start, but then got his wings cut by Tom, who took the match in 5 after a brilliant comeback.
It was now up to Tom against Nigel to draw the match. Nigel, surprised to find himself 13-6 down in the first, composed himself, and started playing some great squash to win the first 16-14.
Nigel dominated the next 2 games, and sealed the 3-1 win for The Pirates.
A great night, squash, food and the apres-squash. Thank you to Falmouth 2.
Man of the Match TOM JAY!

Administrator Notes

Notes:Tom’s finest win by a long chalk - sorry Hatchy! This puts Tom J in the category of the hardest to beat No 2s compounded by the fact that it was at PZ too! Mega squash level points for Tom.
For Tim it was normal service resumed on his specialist court and just when Christian was getting warmed up!! Adrian is a canny player especially if his oppo feeds his volley! Billy will have learnt from playing the more experienced player. Nigel has a habit of needing to play his way back from a deficit score line and he does it so well. Definitely top dog in Div2 this half a great to see the former Devon county star enjoying an resurgence of form with the smaller black ball. Tom pushed him hard at the start.
It’s going to go down to the wire with four teams in the hunt. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of twists and turns in March! Glad you had a good night!
