| Report: | A Falmouth division 2 derby with Fal3 entertaining a much improved Fal2. Olli’s men looked up for it and Fal3 knew it was going to be tough ask to win the match. And it turned out to be a very competitive match. First up steady Dave Crossley vs castaway Billy, Dave plays excellent squash, very few mistakes and gets the ball to the back of the court, his continual pressure was too much in the end for Billy, who battled away but couldn’t quite get a game.
Next up a slimmer Christian vs Pete the post D Keam, Christian was out of the blocks at pace and never relented, Pete with his decent strokeplay couldn’t apply enough pressure, with Christians fine form, he saw out the match 3-0.
Alex vs Olli went all the way, some great rallying and desire resulted in a tight competitive match before Olli’s calf gave out at 2-2 and the shire horse cantered to a 3-2 victory. A match that could have gone either way with both players giving it their all.
Last up another slimmer Fal2 player the Doc vs myself. Some great un-retrievable kill shots at the front for the Doc, who has come off a couple of fine wins set up a tight finale. Another match that certainly could have gone either way but kept plugging away and managed to just about see out the match 3-1.
An enjoyable competitive derby with great sportsmanship, played in great spirits.

| Notes: | Fal3 earn bragging rights again but good win for Christian the whippet v Pete! I like the castaway Billy comment and the 1st and 3rd were close! Oli pulling up sounds familiar so just hope it’s temporary! Sounds like Alex and Oli were going to the wire until that happened. Huw v the other slimmed down version of the man that was Dr T: good hit and double figure pts for both in all 4 games = a good match!
Huw’s Fal3 move up closer to the top 3 where they ought to be given the strength of their squad. |
