Report

Report:The anticipated clash of the titans, battle of the Cornish Ports better known as Pirates on the rampage was a good night to wear bandanas and salute the jolly roger. First up Wayne started cautiously and points stayed fairly even until wayne found all 4 corners of the court with drops boasts and drives too much for Dave. Wayne now had the measure of Dave and then introduced lobs, pace and tight wall play to show no mercy winning the second and third games relatively unopposed. Next up Ian against Alex was a much anticipated battle but Hatchy with a demonstration of pace and accuracy made points hard fought as Alex worked hard to keep with him 8 all in the first it seemed a close fight but Ian just kept to the task and tookmthe first 15/8 The following game Ian took the lead but Alex always playing catch up Alex keen to get on the scoreboard 7\3 up in the third but Ian sprinting around was in a blink 12/7 up so once more Ian won through. Nigel was keen to impose himself in the battle of the left handers 8 nil was a flying start anyone would be pleased with so with. So with the first and second games in the bag a combination of Huw working hard and Nigel relaxing allowed Huw to take the only Falmouth point for the night.
Tim having to wait for Peter last up but continued the winning ways despite the familiar court antics of Peter. Thanks to Phil for another outstanding meal for all

Administrator Notes

Notes:Sit up and take note! These Pirates are mean and mean business! Especially on that cold graveyard of a court for visiting teams. A cut-throat, ruthless display with little mercy or respect shown! The much fancied ‘Men of Huw’ were dispatched with cold blooded efficiency but don’t think I’m over dramatises it! Nigel now pushes himself forward as the top #1 in Div2 with this stupendous win. I’m sure Huw will lick his wounds and pencil in the return fixture and include a diet of raw meat in his preparations! One to look forward to! As posted on FB by the jubilant home team, this victory propels the Pirates to the top of Div2 at least for this week. Without a game next week it looks like TR4 v Bude fixture will decide who knocks them off top spot but they’ll still have a game in hand. A strong start for the Pirates but there are bound to be ups and downs. Love it!
