| Notes: | A great night at Falmouth HQ with the home team taking the spoils as predicted. However, it wasn't that easy for Huw's charges especially after going two-nil down in rubbers at 4 and 3. It then took two strong performances from vastly improved Matt S at #2 and Captain Huw ('The Invincible') at #1 to rescue a them from a potentially bad situation!
My highlights of the evening:
1. Matt Kemp's first win in our county leagues (P2 L1 W1), a mighty display of attacking volleys and delicate drops. Awesome - sorry Pete!
2. Tony's unusually deadly accurate trickle boasting and energy which got him out of a big hole at 2-1 down against Alex! Sorry Alex!
3. Dave's come back game, the 3rd, v Matt who looked so unbeatable in the first two and was in the 4th! Job done!
4. Huw's relentless retrieving and subtle front court game against old warhorse Jon whose one absolute peach of a rolling nick had the crowd in raptures!
5. Those chocolate brownies!
Add to that good banter, a very sporting atmosphere and great marking for all four rubbers. No complaints, Falmouth 3 look favourites for Div2 in my book but we'll know more after their ever-so tricky trip to the high flying Pirates next Wednesday. Some old scores to settle - JUICY!!!
