Report

Report:Pirates at home and first up the battle of the running and agility of Harry v the experience and deceiving Adrian lead to a tense tight first game which could have gone either way but Adrian with unusual boasts and deep drives won through. The next 2 games saw Adrian gather his thoughts and keep Harry guessing and although he managed to return many unexpectedly the pirate won this time.

Next up Tim against Darren saw 2 similar experienced players of compatible height and styles clash swords. It was one of those games where Tim never really got going and Darren kept ahead throughout. Disappointing for Tim where home waters didn't seem to help on this occasion. The clash of Hatchy and Andy was always going to be full of tight furious play with both looking keen and up for the job. Nip and Tuck for the first game up to 9 a piece when from nowhere Ian found another gear and took the next 6 unanswered points. The second game saw Ian keep well on his game and all looked good at 2 up. Andy having none of it and at 10/5 up he looked favourite to take it but Ian again seemed to flick that switch and with only 2 dives for the match bagged 3 more points for the home team. Nigel had to finish the job but was made to work hard and limping looked a shadow of his normal self. Mike taking full advantage and from 8/12 down won 15/12. Rumblings of countback and oops could be sensed. However the Pirate returned complete with wooden leg, parrot and head band. A serious Nigel slowed the game down floating the ball lobs a plenty and pin point boasts saw Mike frustrated at what appeared a prize scalp evaporate in front of him. A great win for Nigel keeping high position in touch.
Great food and banter complete with FA cup penalty shoot out entertainment
