Report

Report: Mike and his merry men arrived at Western Terrace for the double match night with Fal2 playing Tr4. Bit of confusion due to myself (Huw) accidently putting in the Fal3 nominations in the Fal2 column. Apologies for that.
First up Peter D Keam vs Matt G, a competitive match with decent rallies, a slightly subdued Peter crept over the line with a couple of narrow game victories.
The raging Bull took on Penfold (Alex vs Darren), the first point was a cracker with Alex charging round the court, second point and Alex was already into his second wind. Some really impressive running from both with a hot ball making drops difficult. Lots of energy on court with Alex taking the win.
An in form Matt Stone who has been pushed up the nominations took on steady Andy Y, again with the hot ball, it was a pacy affair, with lots of long rallies.
Last up myself vs Mike B, as usual this was a great competitive match with some random epic front of court rallies, the second and third games going to tie breaks, the third game 19-17.
The overall score does not reflect the competitive nature of the matches with all four matches having great rallies and great desire by all players, an enjoyable match with the double match night adding to the atmosphere, the bar was busy after with four teams eating.

Administrator Notes

Notes:Emphatic MW1 victory for last term’s RU and a measure of the progress the Falmouth players are making. The report from Huw made great reading and I’m glad the matches were far better than the 3-0 x4 shoreline suggests! Some tight individual games noted and so glad the double header evening had a good atmosphere. Shame I missed it! Onwards and upwards, Bodmin are at home to the victorious Pirates next Weds all being well with the lights maintenance team at the Dragons Centre whilst Huw’s charges get a week off as CSM, our newbies and 7th team begin their campaign at TR4! If Bodmin beat the Pirates (first team this year to beat Rob’s Invincibles) we’re really in for another roller coaster ride until Easter!
