Report: | A double header at Falmouth with the Uni player Truro on one court with Fal vs Newquay on the other.
Oli jumped on first and seemed to make a great start to his post-injury game. Saw of the carnivore that is Russ. 3-0 to Oli
Tom Jay up next vs MM. I think Mike was in shock for the first game, and was impressed by Toms drops, speed and retrieval allowing Tom to clinch the first game. But Mike many many years of experience gave him the edge he needed to win the next 3. Mike wins 3-1.
I played Darren next, have never got a game off Darren so was pleased to win the first, but Darren played very tight length and decided not to follow my tactic of hitting the tin. Darren won 3-1.
Martin on last vs Matt H. Some pretty impressive match with amazing shot selection, speed and stamina. Matt seems very strong at the moment, and took the win 3-0.
Special shout out to the marker of the final two games. I am not going to name names in case I embarrass the man, but he made phenomenal choices throughout the match, he managed to keep his cool and was very clear in his commands. He sacrificed his own squash career and missed training, just so that he could support his friends. His charisma is known across the county (potentially across the whole south west), his charm and looks have kept many a woman (and man) on the edge of their seat with high excitement in case he looks their way. If you see him you will instantly feel inadequate and humbled, and wonder how he makes the magic happen (some say he is the stig of the squash world). |
