Report

Report:The Slayers welcomed top of the league TR1 to the Den for a good night of squash.

I know it gets said a lot but it really was a night of the score did not reflect the match.

A night where there were 7 tie breakers throughout the match, and the dragons were on the wrong side of 6 of them just shows how different the score line could have been.

This though taking nothing away from TR1, who picked up the scraps and will happily take them back to Headquarters to stash away with their already impressive haul.

Well played everyone though a lot of spirit shown throughout the night with some great squash from both sides.

VERY much looking forward to the return leg to see if we can turn some of those tie breakers around.

Well done again chaps.

Home again next week for the slayers who will be looking to get some instant revenge on current second place Newquay 2!

Administrator Notes

Notes:Definitely a match the Truronians will glad they brought Lady Luck along with them! Like you say, Max, the first thing I noticed was the number of tiebreakers! Neil needed two to get over the line v Gavin and you and George had the best one at 16-18. Incidentally, the TR1 #1 is in fine form and the best he’s been physically for quite a while! Two young dads, I wonder who got the most sleep the night before? Three of the 4 matches ended with TR1 winning on a tie break! It could so easily have been a less flattering score line for the Div1 leaders. I think this might spur them on to believing they can win it after quite a few years of falling just short. Not sure the Newquay-ites will agree with that! Great report as always, Max!
