Report

Report:A thriller of a hard fought contest for the first match of the season. To start Adrian battled against Rob in a match that could have gone either way other than a off form third game for Adrian. The next encounter was Tim v Chris, I'm not sure they have played each other before so the Penzance boaster frustrated Chris who took until the third game to get a look in, unfortunately too late. Up next a new face to the Pirates saw Nigel pick up his squash racquet in place of his other game kit that I wont mention in this league. This battle saw the year on year improving Ali never stop running working or give up in an epic contest of will and ability in which the Pirates came out on top. Had to be contest of the night.
With the game scores 7 - 4 to the Pirates only a little pressure on Ian to take a game off his nemesis Tremayne. so Ian flying out of the blocks (so to speak) took Tremayne by surprise but couldn't quite capitalise losing 13/15 then Bude in their stride took the next 2 games so all square so countback applied a close win to Bude 182 to 176

Administrator Notes

Notes:Thrilling stuff down at the Pirates on MD1! Great report Gareth and just 6 pts in it at the end with the count back. I gathered as much on FB as my question 'What was the score?' provoked stony silence from the PZ faithful! Some good matches though and great to see Nige dust off his squash bat and have a successful run around with the vastly improved Ali (aka 'The Beast'). Look forward to the rematch! Rob at 4 may not last long as he returns to fitness from the wrist injury his son inflicted upon him but Adrian will rue the miss when he went walkabouts in the 3rd (or was it that totally unreadable forehand Rob has?). Chris is an improver so he might want to put the first two behind him - we've all been there, Chris!!! Tim and those skiddy boasts and low drives on that o-so-special PZ home crt!! I still turn uneasily at nights thinking about it!!! Tim at 3? Really? Hatchy has been the hero many a-time before playing in the final rubber and needing to win but looks like Tremayne has him sussed! Lungs bursting after the 1st for Hatchy, I guess. Oh, what it is to be young! Happy Bude drive back up the Atlantic Highway with a stop at McD's in Fraddon for Ali..... Anyway, all three matches in Div 2 showed what a tight Div it'll be again......no soft games so tighten safety belts, adjust your seats and get your ibuprofen ready.....you're in for another roller coaster!!!!
