Report: | A slightly depleted Bodmin side entertained a graciously weaker than usual Truro 4. There were some close games, but most of them went Truro's way, leading to them being victorious. Apparently the farmer played really well, and Tom *thinks* he played well himself although the scoreline suggests otherwise! Hopefully Tony can expand on the match report from his perspective? |

Notes: | Thanks Tom for standing in after a long lay-off and yes it was a good night both on court and off! Great news too that the Bodmin courts will get a facelift in the new year! I think the match ups were pretty good and certainly everyone got a sweat on! Katrina had to work hard for her W but can’t help thinking Matt’s start to the deciding 5th let him down when at times he was firmly in control. Not sure why Katrina left her brilliant serve at home either but it was a great topsy-turvy battle. Si Tai just didn’t know what to do against Martin. That long reach and those deft little returns into the front corners gave Si little hope though taking the third deserves a lot of credit. Martin certainly has good movement as well so the rest of us were glad we didn’t have to play him! Tom is a far better player than the old guy he played but the error count was decisive. The old guy didn’t even know where the ball was half the time in the 3rd especially those off-spinners in the back corners! More court time and Tom will show more of his best. Then on trots Andy alone (The Master does have a habit of being late everywhere!) and immediately has Dave in all sorts of trouble. We thought fitness would be Andy’s winning quality (the calculators for a count back were out) but The Master always adjusts his game plan effectively and took the next three. He was glad to get over the finishing line thought and so were we! Thanks for a great night! Looking forward to our Xmas special with you on the 2nd Dec. |
