Report

Report:First on was Matt vs Callum, the first game was the closest with Callum getting 11 points, from thereon it was plain sailing for Matt cruising to a 3_0 victory, this being his first ever W so well done Matt. Hopefully the first of many to come.

Next on was Rhys against Oli, this was a fairly one sided game and I don't think we saw Oli's full potential at all. I had the feeling he was more interested on the conversation at the back of the court than what was happening on it. Oli had some brilliant shots on him, but on the day Rhys took no prisoners to secure a emphatic W.

I was on next against Owen, this was a very enjoyable match with some great rallies. Owen has some exceptional shot play. Having seen him play Rhys before I knew I was in for a good run! Owen is improving year on year. Just keep that head up!

Last on was Chris against Jack, great game to watch with some long rallies, and some deadly rollers from both players.
Jack's skills are improving all the time, but Chris had too much for him and took the W.

TR2 were without Louis, and I think the Slayers got a rare 15 points from this match where a lot of other may not be so lucky this season. Important points for the boys and may be crucial come Christmas time. Bring on the Newquay next, sure to be another tight match.

Administrator Notes

Notes:Glad to see the boys off the mark with a fixture even if it was a 4-0 reversal. The Slayers will be delighted with the W and the 15 pts to bolster their position in the table. Jack and Owen will take some beating, and more and more so given the steep improvement curve these youngsters typically have. Good wins therefore from the home side at 1 and 2. At 3 & 4 the lads are still cutting their teeth but anyone who’s played a while will know it’s better to beat them now as next time they’ll be bigger and better! Louis is not far off full fitness and will try out his shoulder in the school’s match coming up. Great report Max. Always a pleasure to read!
