Report

Report:Callum played really well against Zef. He is working very hard and not giving up on any point. He is the 7th player for Truro 2, but is becoming a real battler. Very close 2nd game. Zef played well to win it in 3.

For most of the match, Joe found it tough against a very accurate Steve. But a 18-16 win in the 3rd gave him some hope. Joe just needs to be more consistent throughout the whole match and cut out the unforced errors. Again, a very good match from Steve, and Truro 1 were 2-0 up.

Then came Uncle vs Nephew. Neil was never going to give this away easily. Close 2nd and 3rd game, but Neil made Owen play one extra shot in almost every rally. Amazing pick-ups and pressure from Neil to win 3-0.

After the win against Rory the previous week, Louis was looking to beat another top player in Cornwall. George is struggling a little bit this season, but played well against a strong junior. Great rallies and some superb attacking from both players. But in the end Louis was too strong and won it in 3.

So Truro 2 lost 12-4, but hopefully should be safe. Great that so many of the other juniors are getting a chance to play with Jack and Ben out.

Administrator Notes

Notes:Solid win for TR1 and more progress noted with the youngsters, especially Louis who is taking scalps at will as we finish the Aut League. TR2 will be safe as Bude SC have declined promotion on account of losing temporarily their natural #1 to the warmer climes of the S hemisphere. They have said, however, that should they win the Spring League they may well accept promotion.....so watch out Div1 second half! I must express concern for Jack's absence through injury as well. Our best wishes to Jack and let's hope your return will see you come back stronger and fitter. Truro School, in particular, will look forward to that.
Thanks for the report, Alan.
