Report: | A long nights squash with battles in every game. Wayne continues to gain valued match play pushing matt throughout. for the moment experience outplayed enthusiasm and fitness Matt winning 3\1. In the next game Adrian kept to the script and worked consistently to beat Peter in a very competitive entertaining encounter.
Tim Poole now back on court after his Skiing then Flu absence made new to fatherhood Alex work for every point.in very close games it all looked good for the Pirates when Tim played at his best in the 4th game winning 15/3. The ever running Alex nicked the final game 15/13.
The number 1s had it all to play for and with close tie breaks in 3 of the 4 games Huw triumphed. The next fixture should be a game for both players to relish. 1030 and still on court doesn't happen often |

Notes: | Great report on a close match, Gareth. Each game was tight by all accounts and Fal1 will be glad to bag 13 pts at such a hard venue to get anything. They have the Div2 title firmly in their sights especially given that their first team are struggling somewhat. Adrian can claim a good scalp beating Peter who is a much improved player in the last year. Quinny will take a lot away from his hit and Tim will not be happy losing on his home court - he knows how to play it better than anyone. Alex is doing well but maybe fatherhood will sap his strength and that great running he has? I was on the receiving end of it last week! Hatchy and Adrian went live on FB at one point! We need more of this! Huw will be delighted with his exploits and is hitting good form at the right time. He’s certainly looking fitter than ever, I’d say. PZ leapfrog Fal2 back into 5th and Fal3 sit at the top but by only 9pts so second placed The Budists will have their chance to go top again if they beat the surprise contenders TR4 tonight on the famous Barrington Court. All’s well that ends well though, and I’m sure the clubhouse nosh and banter were as good as usual. |
