Report

Report:A super charged almost rowdy night at Truro HQ but a solid victory for Fal3 in the end. Huw has a good reserve 4 in Alan who had more mobility and speed than Richie. Richie only got going in the last game but Alan always had an answer to everything so 3-0 was inevitable. On next were the 2s, Alex and Ras, an eagerly awaited clash of styles and ages and it didn’t disappoint. Alex retrieved so well forcing Ras to make errors as he went for winners. But it was nip and tuck all the way throughout games 1, 2 and 3 with Ras looking like he might turn it around....enter the wise Head of Alex and an easier 4th! A good 3-1 in the end, probably rating as one of Alex’s best this half. Then the next bout, Adam v Pete. You could smell the testosterone a mile away and even the warm up had its moments. However, squashwise it was pretty obvious early on who had the better range of shots. Adam threatened with his exocet serves and powerful straight down the wall volleys but Pete had the better short game and could vary the pace. It does help having a drop shot! Why rally so much, it’s all over-rated! We almost had handbags in the 3rd though but the guest marker soon put a stop to it. Last of all Huw v Seb. Huw took the win 3-1 at Falmouth but Seb was determined to do better and grew in confidence the more the match went on. You could see his eyes light up when he knew his game plan was working! To see Huw out-run and out-gunned is quite something! A rarity! A good chat in the bar afterwards over Kerry’s honey and mustard chicken and a few cold ones. Well done Falmouth, a good win against the old enemy! Good luck in your last one!

Administrator Notes

Notes:Falmouth came and conquered! 13 valuable points against the wooden spoonists and 11 points separating them with top placed Bude going into the last matches of the season. On paper Fal3 have the easier match at home to PZ whilst Bude have a tricky one at TR4 on Monday but only need 5 pts to secure it.
