Report

Report:Following last weeks demolition of Fal3, Bude made the return leg with a depleted team, missing Fin and Tremaine. Falmouth smelt blood and hoped to reduce the 11 point deficit.
The evergreen Rob was keen to get started at the bar, er, I mean get the match going and commenced battle with myself (Huw), the games were tight early on with Rob's trick shots being effective, before I managed to grind Rob down see out the match.
Three points in the bag, game plan working...then Ali steps up, put Pete under too much pressure with his relentless retrieving. It seems Ali has made notable progress from a couple of seasons ago when he was moving over from Rugby.
Next up Chris vs Alex, this is usually a decent battle, however Alex was a little under par, and Chris was steady and kept the pressure on and managed to see out the match without losing a game.
Game plan has gone out of the window. Last hope was a clean sweep for Matt Stone, Fal3's stand out player, who is making clear progress each week.
His movement and shot selection was too good for David, who was playing some tight shots. A much needed win and took the match to count back.
Fal3 154 - 143 Bude.
A strange evening of squash, a close team score but all matches 3-0's.

Administrator Notes

Notes:The first 3-0 0-3 0-3 3-0 count back of the season (can’t really remember another one to be honest!) and a fine win for chasers Fal3 who closed the gap to 8 points with just 3 to go! Squeaky bum time it will be then! Love it! On paper Huw’s charges have the better run in with two very winnable home games and Tr5 away. Could be a bana skin? Bude don’t travel well, that’s for sure, but need to with trips to Falmouth 2 and TR4 in their last two. Tr5 at home this week so a 15 pointer will be on the cards but they’re a potential banana skin with the youngsters in. What drama awaits, all those twists and turns. I’ll bet Five Live would love it. It’s going down to the wire in my opinion.....
