| Report: | Bude took full advantage of a Pirates team weakened by key absences. Hatchy made Fin work for every game in the first string match but wasn’t quite able to match his opponent for pace or movement. Adrian was constrained by the lingering effects of a chesty cough, and struggled to get on terms, while Chris was too agile for Gareth at 3. Newcomer Wayne pushed Ali in the final game of their 4th string match and is one to watch for the future as he is fit, quick and keen, but Ali’s experience told on the night. Always good to host the Pirates, and this time the travellers benefitted from an unusually early finish! |

| Notes: | A comprehensive win for the Budists on the famous Barrington Court. The Pirates were going so well but Rob's report very fairly points out the reasons for the result. I always admire those who make this fixture given the return trip, so hats off to both teams. Bude are now on catch up with a perfect 30 pts from just two played and look the real deal so far along with Huw's Falmouth 3. However, I suspect there will be many close matches ahead given the similar standard across most teams in Div2. Just hope everyone enjoys their squash nights, objective No 1! |
