| Report: | Well done Bodmin 2nds for your first win in Div 2. Tr5’s hopes were dashed by some very inconsistent performances suggesting more training after Christmas may be required. Mike did really well to claw back a 2-0 deficit and looked full of running at the end against Tony who faded badly under sustained pressure. It all looked a formality for the home player until he got sloppy in the third inviting Mike to take his legs out with long rallies and great pick ups. Mike W will want to forget this one! Martin’s reach and hard hitting were just too much for him. Tom looked classy at times and should even get better with more games under his belt. Chris found it hard, like Mike and Adam, to return well to put their opponents under pressure. Andy was just too consistent against Adam who was well below his best. Great match though and good banter over one of Clare’s curries! |

| Notes: | Good first win for the newcomers to Div2. A moral booster before they take on the Pirates at Bodmin next week. Tr5 had their high hopes of a W well and truly dashed tonight. Next up: away to TR4 on Monday. They’ll need Mark back if they are to stand any chance, on paper at least. I’m personally delighted that the teams in Div2 look roughly similar in strength so expect some monumental battles ahead. |
