Report

Report:With Bodmin 1 players dropping like flies this half, Bodmin 2 stepped in to lend a hand. To make matters worse, Newquay phoned ahead and arranged for the leisure centre heating to be turned up to 11, so the court conditions were as humid as the tropical biome at Eden project! No 1's played first, and Max got off to a flying start in the first game and had Matt looking for solutions. In the following games Matt found them, and despite Max keeping him under pressure, Matt came out on top in the next three games.

Matt G and Henry are both relative newcomers to the format of team squash and both gave their all in this tie. But Henry was the stronger player and Matt wasn't able to match him on this occasion.

Martin struggled against Dave's court craft, did a lot of retrieving but was unable to put much pressure on Dave - who looked well in control in the first two games. In the third Martin got a bit closer, but it wasn't enough to stop Dave winning in three.

Jamie was particularly sporting against Mike and kept the rallies going when he could have killed them off quicker. Probably just trying to keep the ball warm!

So a bit of a one sided match, but I think everyone enjoyed their games, and the food after.

Administrator Notes

Notes:Great report, Mike, and glad it was a good evening even if you had to call on the super subs. Lucky you had them! A good bunch of team mates! That's down to your doing so big thanks from CCSRA! NQY2 are coasting into the Play-Off Final on 24th April v TR3 of 4 stars on shirts fame! It'll be a cracker with 4 v 4 and the heating turned up full! The Slayers meanwhile will be eyeing the bottom of the Div1 table nervously and crossing fingers and toes! Squeaky bum territory for sure. Fal1 looked doomed though but down in Div2 there are also sqeaky bums. Bude and Fal3 go into their final matches knowing the points margin needed to win Div2 - Bude need 5. It's looking like Bude's to lose then but we'll know by Monday evening after their tricky away match at TR4. Whether promotion is accepted I'm not sure..... let's wait and see!
