Report

Report:Newquay turned up with 3 players so Truro 2 decided to drop Tim, their No 1 player, to allow the three Juniors to play.

Owen won his game in 3 against Carl. Owen wasn’t playing his best squash, but whenever Carl was close he was able to up-a-gear to get out of trouble.

Louis continued his impressive form in the 1st Division against a dangerous Matt. Louis’ meticulous construction of every rally, his dying length and attacking drops meant Matt could not find a way into the match.

Dropping Tim meant that Jack was playing at 1 against Mark. The first game was very competitive and Jack was moving well and hitting a great length. But everyone knows how strong Mark is, and today his strength of drive, accuracy and sublime drop shots meant that he pulled away in the 2nd and 3rd games.

So a good night for Truro 2 with the Juniors playing 1, 2 and 3. As a bonus, they made up ground on Newquay 1 in the fight for 3rd place.

Administrator Notes

Notes:I’ve re-entered the results and submitted a walkover at 4 using Jack instead of Tim who as a 1 cant be listed at 4. Hope that makes sense!
Thanks again for a great report Alan and well done the starlets. Both teams are very safe and this might well have been a 2nd or 3rd place decider all things considered. For Louis and Owen it looked straight forward and Jack will gain lots from playing the likes of Mark who is one of the best shot makers in the county! Lots of matches coming up thick and fast now to finish the season.
