Report

Report:On paper this was a tough match for Truro 2 as Falmouth 1 brought a strong team and Owen and Ben Thorpe were both injured at No. 4 string.

This meant I had to turn out at 4 string after a long break. Christian is playing very good squash and I was pleased that I managed to stay with him until the mid-point of each game. Then, tellingly, at that point, Christian's strength and fitness told.

Louis was strong against Huw. Great rallies but Louis was too powerful and accurate to be really stretched.

A very different game between Jack and Mat. Rallies were intense and skilful, with Jack's touch and preciseness meaning there was no way in for Mat. Very good match to watch.

Tim and Jonny's match was outstanding. The quality of shot and retrieval from both players was a joy to watch. Jonny moved the ball around beautifully, but Tim's shot-making was superb and he just never gives up on any ball. A great example to the Juniors playing alongside him. Jonny's ankle was troubling him a little, but as always he was a great sportsman and gave everything. Brilliant match to watch.

So Truro 2 won it 12-4. 6th win on-the-run with their only 2 losses happening earlier in the season against Truro 3 and Truro 1. Very good season for Truro 2 with the Juniors improving all the time.

Administrator Notes

Notes:TR2 faultless in their catch up and run in to the end of the season. Just one to go now. Thank you Alan for your captaincy and for filling in! Great to see Jonny 'Golden Shoes' back in action after a long injury, Tim too beginning to ractchet up the form level ahead of the ICC Finals in June and The British Masters Open in Hull.
