| Away Report: | 'This was a first in Cornwall league master squash history! The matches were 2-2, the games were 9-9, and I can''t be assed to work out what the points were, but Truro1 and Newquay 2 were inseparable.
The soon to be capped for Cornwall over 35s Darren Shaw went on first against Zefron Counter. This was a classic with both players showing great speed and agility and the rallies being played at a exceptional pace. The first four games swung backwards and forwards setting up the fifth game that was a classic Darren just coming out on top 16/18.
Next on court was Dave Priem against another up ad coming youngster from Truro Seb Wood. Dave got off to a good start going 2-0 up and having quite a lead in the third, but the youngster from Truro never let his head go down once showing a fantastic attitude and lovely demeanor on court, reminding me a little of myself as a junior!! Seb fighting back to take the match 3-2 in a performance that belied his age.
Matt Harford went on next against George Marley. These two had a close match at Newquay and this one was just as good with both payers battling hard for the win. This time George using home court advantage to take the match 3-1.
The final match of the night was between Jamie Lang and Neil Counter. With Neil''s fitness never in doubt Jamie had to use all of his court knowledge, accurate hitting and deception to keep Neil moving around the court which he did brilliantly. Jamie taking the match 3-1.So nine a piece it was, couldn''t of been closer and thoroughly enjoyable!!
