Report: | Pirates got off to a promising start with Gordon working hard with Darren being troubled by the cooler court than the Newquay hot house temperatures 12 and 11 then the breakthrough 16/14 win well deserved still managing 8 points in the forth. well won point for the pirates.
Tim Hayden again displayed agility around the court but Matts precision and shot selection won through. Tim Poole was under no illusion as to the task v Jamie but a good battle ensued in the second game tim getting to 13. Adrian had a long wait for his game owing to Dave working and then having a smashed windscreen enroute to Penzance. Adrian as always battled hard but points didn't go his way . |

Away Report: | ' The Pirates hosting Newquay 2 for the final match of the pre Christmas season.Darren getting Newquay off to a good start against the Wiley Scotsman Gordon Mackie.Darren taking the hard fought match 3-1.Next on court was Matt Harford against Tim Hayden,Tim putting up a good show but going down 3-0.Jamie Lang was next on court against Tim Poole,Jamie using his ferocious power to get the ball moving a little less like a frozen Brussels sprouts, often difficult in the tepid climate of the theatre that is Pirates squash.Last on Court was Dave Priem against Adrian Cruse, Adrian waiting patiently for Dave was much appreciated! Adrian putting up a brave fight in each and every game but Dave running out the winner 3-0,and also getting a lesson on Brexit! So Newquay 2 get the points they needed to win the first half of the season!! I''m sure the second half of the season will be just as competitive, with Bodmin looking to have a very strong team moving into the top flight!!!' |

Notes: | A final Div 1 fixture for the popular Pirates and their outstanding non-playing but always marking captain Gareth! Minus 'The Hatch' Tim did well against the Division's standout first string, and The Flying Hayden looks to be back in full running form in readiness for the battles ahead in Div2. Adrian always gives his all and Gordon was the star performer against THE CHAMPIONS!!! Home and dry after some wobbles a few weeks ago with a walkover against, NQY2 got over the line with two fine wins. As Autumn League champs they go to the Play-Off in April - well done! I'm sensing a conclusion to the TR domination but then again TR3 have a couple of aces back in their line up after Christmas. It's going to be hot!! MERRY CHRISTMAS from the CCSRA team!!! See you in 2019! |
