Report

Report:Although all matches were won 3-0 by a strong Truro 2 team, there were good competitive games in each match.

Last time Owen played Adrian (first match of the season) he lost 3-0. This time Owen made very few unforced errors and put a lot of pressure on the ball and although Adrian played just as well as last time, and there were great rallies, this time Owen had too much. Just shows how Owen is improving as he is getting back to when he was one of the top juniors in the County.

Louis continued his winning ways this year (he has only dropped 1 game this season, winning all other matches 3-0) with great length and attacking squash. Gordon didn't do much wrong and retrieved a lot, but Louis was too strong on the night.

Jack used all four corners of the court to put too much pressure on Tim, but as happened the first time they played, Tim finished strongly.

The first game of Tim Smith and Ian's match was hilarious. The Juniors watching had never seen anything like it and loved Ian's diving and antics. Some of the rallies were unbelievable and I am sure with one of the rallies Ian did a full commando roll before winning the point. But Tim's accuracy became increasingly difficult for Ian and he could not keep up the pace and athleticism of the first game.

Truro 2 go top of the table with a match against Newquay on Tuesday. So many great teams competing to win it this year.

Administrator Notes

Notes:Great report Alan! Lovely atmosphere again at HQ Truro. I'm not sure the youngsters being exposed to The Hatch is a good thing, mind!? Not exactly Paul Coll-esque in execution but great fun to watch. We all love our Hatchy and the free floor cleaning service! So Tr2 sit at the top just 2 pts above Neil's Tr1 with NQY2 within reach of both if they win their next match....at home to TR2! A top of the table class awaits and lots of questions will be answered next Tuesday. TR1 meanwhile will hope for stalemate and a sharing of the points which I think is very likely. Sqeaky bum time then....bring it on!!!
