| Report: | Bodmin take home the silverware this year in spite of being a player short. Three wins at #1, #2 and #3 overturned a 2-0 down start after Ali beat Harry who kindly stepped in for Rhys who was unavailable. Inspite of losing it was obvious to all that Harry has the potential to become a good squash player and let's hope we have another young Dragon in the making! Mike took his match 3-0 against chris but two of them were nail biters at 16-14. This was crucial to Bodmin's triumph because a reversal in Bude's favour would have returned the Hine Plate to North Cornwall! Robin started very well against Andy who was last season's Most Improved Player. Andy though 'woke up' and lengthed his way to a well-earned 3-1 victory. Max v Fin promised to be a cracker but Max had no intention of dragging it out and won emphatically 3-0. Next he beat Fin's Dad Rob in a friendly and many half expected Mum and the cat to be next! Max is certainly playing his best squash of his career and let's hope this continues into next season. So Bodmin surprised us all - Rob too! - and ended their campaign well after just missing out on promotion. |
