Report: | 5. Huw Gibbon 3-1 Dave Priem - 15-9,9-15,15-12,17-15
An intriguing battle at Western Terrace. The crowds turned up early and the atmosphere was buzzing. Both teams had put their best teams out. First blood went to Matt Waterton who's deft front of court play got the better of Matt Tamblyn.
Some brutal play followed between the big hitters Jon and Mark, Jon was on form and his impressive movement made the difference. Martin was too much for Darren (didn't see that match), Huw finally managed to get the better of Dave to win the tie. Last up an impressive match between Ben and Matt, whereby Ben had to be on form to win.
Newquay as always were a pleasure to host and made for a fun evening. |

Notes: | A cracker! Great that you could play 5v5 and sorry the system isn’t designed for all 5 results - I’m on the case! Home advantage is important but having Ben back was probably the key to Falmouth’s first semi win in quite a few years! As a neutral (cough, splutter!) and knowing the Truro line up for Super Saturday’s Pawle Cup Final, Falmouth have every chance of winning some silverware this season! By my reckoning it’ll go down to the wire and someone will become a hero! A fitting climax and Match of the Season? Let’s hope so! My commiserations to Newquay who, as always, deserve much acclaim for their sporting attitude and great sense of fun. All welcome on Super Saturday at Truro HQ.....it’s the final countdown!!! |
