Report

Report:An enjoyable night at Truro with 2 team matches on the same evening. Robin made short work of Richard, but Mike pushed Gary all the way in each of the games. A few less errors and it could and should have been a different story. Julians fitness told against hard hitting Adam however, and Pete and Dave put on a show in the first string match with a thrilling 5 game battle that went all the way. To be honest the match could have gone either way but vociferous support for Pete from the excitable Falmouth team moonlighting from their own match on another court carried him over the line. Many thanks from the Captain of Tr5 to the whole squad who have proven to be keen as mustard for the whole season. Now team training starts in earnest!

Administrator Notes

Notes:The penultimate match of the Div2 season sees TR4 finish a respectable 4th with TR5 anchoring the division in the absence of the students. Pete has been improving all season not only in his reporting but also on court and his close victory over The Master will boost his confidence in his return to team Squash at Falmouth. Julian, Cornwall’s March Player of the Month just goes from strength to strength so this result against Adam is not a surprise, Gary will be pleased to salvage a W in the last match against the improving Mike and Robin can always be relied upon. Richie is mobile and always good to play against. In the TR5 ranks there is promise and surely next season will see further improvement in a squad who always enjoy their squash nights. The search is on to replace Peter as captain but hopes are high. An easy job with such an enthusiastic squad! We will miss Pete’s enthusiasm but wish him luck in all his battles against other teams than Truro! Season over, bring on the exhibition night and pre-season training!
