Report: | A full strength Newquay side put TR3 to the sword. Seeing as Tim May has hardly played this season, he played really well in his match against Mad Mike Morgan and did well to pick up a game. Dave Priem never seemed to get out of first gear and his deft touch deserted him. He normally has a five game thriller with Pete Walks Walker but this time it was a 0-3. Darren Shaw played some tight, attacking squash to record his first win against Simmo and was the surprise result of the evening. Matt Harford will be a welcome addition to the county over 45 team later this year, especially if he keeps up his current standard. Joel Brickell was stepping up to the number one slot, in the absence of Rory, and Matt’s deceptive, accurate shots coupled with amazing retrieving was just too good for him. Well played Newquay and we’ll have to wait ‘til later this year for some revenge! |

Notes: | NQY2 look like they've climbed away from the heat of the relegation battle with this well-earned win against the runaway leaders. This leaves 'Tim's Starlets' TR2 teetering on the precipice along with NQY2, the NOBs. It's all looking rather like a SUDDEN DEATH scenario with Tr2 due to meet the NOBs in the last match of the season at Truro HQ 18th April. Mad Mike Morgan looks like he's hit some form ahead of the county weekend against a rusty but incredibly fit Tim May - who just happens to have a month long sponsored row across the Atlantic in his plans this summer! Mr Reliable, Pete Sky Walker looks like he's the only one to avoid a fine for the reigning champs, and Darren wrestled one of his best Ws of the season v the impressive Simmo. Joel is so stylish and great to watch but wins v the equally stylish Matt are quite hard to come by as he found out! But Tr3 are so far ahead now that planning their celebrations will be more in their minds than worrying over this home defeat! Play-Off Final date TBA shortly..... |
