| Report: | Great match started with Jeanne giving Hatchy a run for his money. Hatchy took the first and second games although Jeanne should really have taken the second, having quite a lead. Jeanne took the third before Hatchy got his act together playing deeper shots.
Gordon was off the level as Sam was hitting the ball very hard, and giving Gordon the run around in the first game. Gordon got his act together in the second but really should have lost the third, digging in and saving several game points. Advice from the team didn’t help in the fourth as Sam ran through the game to take it to the fifth. This time Gordon took the advice and played up a notch to seal closely fought win. The next two matches were more straight forward. Billy has excellent skills and shots but was not as consistent as Tim who kept his mistakes down compared to Billy. Very nice match won by Tom. In the last match a very game David was outclassed by Jack who kept his mistakes to a minimum. Jack ran out an easy winner. Good win for Pirates. Many thanks to Falmouth who joined us for a lamb stew dinner cooked by Pirates chef Phil. |
