| Report: | Energetic, competitive match at the old club. Alex and Harry went hard at it. Harry having had 6 months off, not playing since the last team match in the spring league. Harry playing lots of boast and back wall recoveries. Alex his usual difficult to beat self, retrieving relentlessly. Great match.
John delivered a match that his talent deserves. Accurate line and length and pace round the court was too much for me, who started slowly and left it too late to open up the match.
Oscar and Henry had another 5 setter, Henry entrenched on the T, sending Oscar round the court, lots of cross courts, keeping the young student on his toes. Eventually Oscar ground Henry down and took the win. Finally Matt and Adam, Adam relentlessly retrieving, too much for Tambo, who couldn't find the winners.
Not since last time we played Nqy2 have we been so late eating, had to persuade the bar to open later. Lots of tired bodies today. Good catch up with the Newquay crew. |
